Country Parks Facilities - What's New

From 7:00am to 7:00pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays for the period between 2.12.2023 and 14.1.2024, the Transport Department will implement special traffic arrangement on the section of Tai Tong Shan Road between the Pavilion and Tai Tong Shan Road Car Park.

Actual implementation of road closure, traffic diversion and traffic control measures will be made by Police officers on site at the time depending on the traffic and crowd situation. The above-mentioned measures may affect people going to Tai Lam Country Park. Members of the public are advised to use public transport and watch out to the latest traffic and transport information announced by the Transport Department and the Police.

Due to landslides and fallen trees caused by typhoon and rainstorm, certain forest tracks and trails within Shing Mun Country Park are temporarily closed for maintenance until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Due to landslide and fallen trees caused by heavy rain, part of Hong Kong Trail Section 8 near Pottinger Gap is temporarily closed for clearance and maintenance until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Due to reconstruction works, a part of the Shing Mun Forest Track – Tai Shing Stream Section as shown on the map is temporarily closed to all vehicles from 14 August 2023 until further notice. Hikers will not be affected. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Due to damage, the wooden roof of rain shelter (PFL/SH/002) in Pok Fu Lam Picnic Site No. 2 had been removed and will be repaired for the safety of visitors. Please use the nearby shelters in Pok Fu Lam Picnic Site 1 and 3 (around 8 minutes of walk and 5 minutes of walk respectively). Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Due to potential risk of landslide, the footpath from Shap Long Campsite to Shap Long Chung Hau as shown on the map is temporarily closed from 10 March 2023 until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Visitors may choose alternative hiking trail.

Shek Lei Pui Reservoir Barbecue Area Site No. 2 is under enhancement works, based on safety reasons, the site is temporarily closed starting from 3-11-2022 until further notice. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Due to maintenance works and exhibit renewal, Shing Mun Country Park Visitor Centre is closed from 1^st July 2022 until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

The public toilet at Tai Long Sai Wan beach will be temporarily closed for maintenance until further notice. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Farmland rehabilitation within private lots in Yi O Kau Tsuen and Yi O San Tsuen is in progress, the land owners do not allow unauthorized access to those villages. The affected sections of Lantau Trail Section 7 passing through those villages will be diverted. Visitors who wish to come and go to Fan Lau, Kau Ling Chung or Tai O are advised to choose alternative routes as shown on the maps at scene.
