Tai Mei Tuk Family Walk is a hiking trail suitable for all ages and is easily accessible by public transportation. It stretches about 1 kilometer around the hill and can be completed within an hour. Along the route, you can overlook the Plover Cove Reservoir, which is Hong Kong’s first reservoir constructed by enclosing part of the sea. Construction works began in 1960 and was completed in 1968. At that time, the water storage capacity reached 170 million cubic meters. Due to increased demand for water, there was a need to increase the height of the main dam. The construction was completed in 1973, increasing the reservoir's capacity to 230 million cubic meters. On this circular route, you can ascend to four viewing points for the spectacular views of Plover Cove Reservoir and Ting Kok, majestic Pat Sin Leng mountain range, and to enjoy the gentle sea breeze. The route also features unique Chinese zodiac directional signs—can you find your zodiac sign?
