The Tai Tam Family Walk is 1.6 km long and suitable for beginners, making it a great option for families on weekends. Along the shaded path, you will find a variety of native Hong Kong plants such as the Varied-leaf Fig, Small-leaved Holly, Castanopsis, Red Azalea, etc. As you approach the end of the trail, you have reached the Tai Tam Viewing Point, where you are greeted by the picturesque scenery of the Tai Tam Reservoirs. They are comprised of the Tai Tam Upper Reservoir, Tai Tam Byewash Reservoir, Tai Tam Intermediate Reservoir, and Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir. These reservoirs were constructed by the government between 1883 and 1917 to meet the water demand of the public, marking over 100 years of history. Visitors are encouraged to stop at the viewing point to savour the history and admire the picturesque view of the reservoirs. Occasionally, you may even spot Black Kites soaring with the wind.
