Country Parks Facilities - What's New

To facilitate tree maintenance work, the open space next to the Ma On Shan Country Park Barbecue Area will be temporarily closed from 9:00am to 5:00pm on 22 January 2026. During the closure, please do not park vehicles in the open space. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir Barbecue Area Site 1 within Tai Tam Country Park is temporarily closed for reconstruction works of Tai Tam Tuk public toilet from 8 January 2026 (Thursday) until further notice.  Visitors may use other barbecue sites of Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir Barbecue Area. We apologise for the inconvenience so caused.

The rainshelter at Shing Mun Picnic Site No.13 and Evergreen Lush Viewing Point will be temporarily closed for reconstruction works from 16 December 2025 until further notice. Visitors may use the shelters in vicinity. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Due to maintenance works of the rain shelter, the picnic site at Sai Kung Yung Shue O is closed from 17 December 2025 until further notice.

To enhance visitor facilities, Aberdeen Reservoir Barbecue Area Site No.2 will be temporarily closed from 23 October 2025 (Thursday) until further notice.

• Obelisk South Access Road
• Tsin Yue Wan Campsite

Due to damage caused by landslides following the recent typhoon and heavy rain, the hiking trails from Wu Kau Tang via Lai Tau Shek to Sam A, and via Sam A Chung to Sam A. For public safety, these trails have been temporarily closed from 3 October 2025 until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

To enhance visitor facilities, the construction of a new public toilet at Twisk Campsite will commence in early October 2025. During the construction period, part of the open area near MacLehose Trail - Section 9 adjacent to the campsite entrance/exit will be temporarily closed, and the portable toilets within this area will be suspended from use until further notice. Visitors may use the portable toilets near the Twisk Campsite Service Counter. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Due to a landslide, a section of the Pat Sin Leng Nature Trail is temporarily closed until further notice. Visitors are advised to use the alternative path. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Due to the impact of the recent typhoon, certain sections of the Lai Chi Wo Nature Trail have been damaged. That trail section will be temporarily closed with immediate effect until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Due to heavy rainstorm, a footbridge along the Blue Walk in Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve has been damaged and is pending repair. To ensure public safety, a section of the Blue Walk is temporarily closed from 15 September 2025 until further notice. Visitors are advised to use the connecting path to access other parts of the Blue Walk. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Due to landslide, a road section of Tai Tan Country Trail (see attached map) has been temporarily closed from 15 September 2025 until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Due to maintenance works and exhibit renewal, Aberdeen Tree Centre is closed from 30th Jun 2025 until further notice. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

To enhance visitor facilities, construction work for a new toilet at Long Ke Wan Campsite will commence in July 2025. During the works, part of the campsite will be temporarily closed and route diversion will be arranged for the affected section of MacLehose Trail (near Distance Post M021) until further notice. Visitors are advised to follow on-site instruction signs for the diverted route. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The P.H.A.B. Barbecue Site public toilet, refreshment kiosk, and water filling station within Aberdeen Country Park are temporarily closed for reconstruction works from 13 February 2025 (Thursday) until further notice. Visitors may use the temporary public toilet nearby. We apologise for the inconvenience caused

Due to improvement work, The Climbers, Rock Academy, Rock & Mineral Corner, a grassland next to the Net House located at Lions Nature Education Centre, Sai Kung, will be temporarily closed from 24 December 2024 until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

The Bride’s Pool public toilet within Pat Sin Leng Country Park is temporarily closed for reconstruction works from 28 October 2024 (Monday) until further notice. Visitors may use the temporary public toilet nearby. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

The Tai Tam Tuk public toilet within Tai Tam Country Park will be temporarily closed for reconstruction works from 19 August 2024 (Monday) until further notice.  Visitors may use the temporary public toilets nearby.  Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Due to landslide, a road section of Yung Pak Corridor (see attached map) has been temporarily closed from 11^th May 2024 until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Due to landslide, a road section of Luk Wu Country Trail (see attached map) has been temporarily closed until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Due to damage caused by typhoon and heavy rain, certain sections of the Nam Chung Country Trail have been affected and are at risk of landslide. For public safety, the trail section between Ping Teng Au and San Uk Tsai (highlighted in blue on the map) has been temporarily closed from 11 September 2023 until further notice. Visitors entering from Luk Keng are advised to return via the same route before reaching the closed section, or proceed from Ping Teng Au through the connecting path to Wilson Trail Section 9 (indicated by the red arrows on the map). We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Due to landslide caused by heavy rain, part of Hong Kong Forest Track – Boa Vista Track Section is temporarily closed for maintenance from 9 September 2023 until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Due to potential risk of landslide, the footpath from Shap Long Campsite to Shap Long Chung Hau as shown on the map is temporarily closed from 10 March 2023 until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Farmland rehabilitation within private lots in Yi O Kau Tsuen and Yi O San Tsuen is in progress, the land owners do not allow unauthorized access to those villages. The affected sections of Lantau Trail Section 7 passing through those villages will be affected. Visitors may choose alternative hiking trail. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
